For the first time all year, the Scots have lost back-to-back games after falling at Sewanee 5-2. This is a rare occurrence for the team, as they last lost multiple games in a row from March 15 - 23 last year, when they lost four consecutive games. Starting pitcher Kaden Wimsat was effective for the Scots on the mound, as he didn't give up any earned runs (but had three unearned runs score while pitching) and struck out six batters in seven innings pitched. Reliever Johnny Ruggerio Jr. pitched the eighth inning and gave up two earned runs on two hits. MC committed four errors in the game, leading to unearned runs scored in the second and third innings, giving the Tigers a 3-0 advantage after three innings. Sewanee's only earned runs came in the bottom of the eighth on a double to right center field that plated runners from second and third. Jacob Johnston.
Reece Jordan and
Zach Devries would fly out in the next at-bats to end the chance at a comeback for the Scots. The team only had two hits on the day, with
Reece Jordan hitting a single in the top of the first inning, and then Dunworth's homer in the ninth.
Huntingdon comes into the match sitting at 16-6 overall and 5-1 in conference play, and are on a five game winning streak. Most recently, they swept Asbury in three games and won 2/3 against Covenant.
