Finding the team down early in a 5-0 deficit, head coach Clint Helton made the adjustments needed to help the Scots climb back to eventually win the game.

After the seemingly endless first inning was over, Maryville found themselves down 5-0. Coach Helton made a key substitution that brought life back to the team. Sophomore Nick Curry came in to pinch hit for Zach Devries, and the rest was history. The Knoxville native was 5-5 on the day, scoring three runs and bringing in five RBI. Curry was a home run away from hitting for the cycle with two singles, one double, and one triple.

Maryville completed the comeback, defeating Greensboro 13-9. Adrian comes into the game at 5-5 on the year after splitting their Traid Invite games of Friday and Saturday. They fell to Greensboro on Friday, and defeated Montclair last night. The Scots improved to 10-3.

Brecca Williams popped a pair of home runs to highlight Day 1 of a weekend trip to North Carolina. Williams belted a solo home run to left-center and a grand slam to right in her first two at bats on her way to a 3-for-4 game. It was the first two-homer collegiate game for the senior, who matched her career high with five RBIs. The only other time Williams drove in five runs was her first game as a Maryville Scot back on Feb. 12, 2022, in a 14-0 win at Emory.

Williams was 3-for-4 that afternoon with a triple and three runs scored. The Maryville native was 3-for-4 Saturday with two home runs, a double and two runs scored. She lined to short for her only out. Her 10 total bases were a career best. Williams now has three career home runs, having hit one last season.

The Scots traded shutouts here Saturday, falling 5-0 to No. 19-ranked Muskingum before turning the tables and blanking Ferrum 8-0 in a game shorted to six innings by the run rule.

Greensboro sits at 9-5 on the year, most recently defeating Ferrum twice this past thursday.
