LOOKOUT MOUNTAIN, Ga. – Maryville fell to Covenant with a final score of 9–3 on Friday. The Scots opened the scoring with a run in the first inning and added late runs in the eighth and ninth innings. Covenant's decisive six-run fifth inning proved crucial, supported by 16 hits in total. Maryville recorded 10 hits, including two doubles, but left 10 runners on base.
Covenant earned its lead in the first, and extended it in the fifth inning, scoring six runs on a sequence that included four singles, a double, and a wild pitch. This offensive burst turned a close contest into a commanding lead, which the Scots could not overcome.
Maryville initially took a 1–0 lead in the first inning, as
Brayden Evans reached third on a single by
Colin Dunworth and scored on a throwing error. Despite early opportunities, including a bases-loaded situation in the third, the Scots struggled to capitalize, leaving three runners stranded. In the eighth inning,
Det Dettwiller doubled and scored on a single by
Luke Wright, but the rally fell short as potential runs were left on base.
In the ninth,
Masin Hall doubled and scored after a fielder's choice by Dunworth, but a double play halted any further scoring efforts. Despite showing resilience late in the game, the Scots were unable to bridge the gap created by Covenant's mid-game explosion.
Kyle Timko started for Maryville and pitched 4 2/3 innings, allowing 12 hits and 8 earned runs, while striking out 2 and walking 3. He threw a total of 92 pitches, 57 of which were strikes, and gave up one home run.

Masin Hall recorded one hit and drew three walks, contributing a double in the game.
Brayden Evans added two hits and scored one run.
