MARYVILLE - MC's women's soccer team faced off against LaGrange College during their annual Maryville College Fall Classic, hosted at the MC Soccer Complex. Continuing their winning ways against the Panthers, the Scots defeated the Georgia team 4-0 and move to 2-1-2 on the season. 

Maryville's first goal came from Katie Cotten, after she received a pass from Katie Corley and took it near the opposing penalty area and let it rip, scoring from just outside the box. This goal put Maryville up 1-0 quickly, scoring within the 8th minute mark, and from then on they dominated possession of the ball. 

The Scots took 14 shots in the first half, and forced LaGrange to make three saves. They also had eight corner kicks, really showing that Maryville was on the offensive side of the ball virtually the entire half. 

With a very similar setting to the first goal, the Scots got on the scoreboard quickly in the second half with the foot of Cotten scoring. After the Scots depossessed the Panthers, Ruby Saylor flew up the right wing before laying a cross into the box, with Cotten finishing the goal and moving the Scots up to 2 goals to the Panthers 0. 

The third goal was very similar to the second one, as Ellie Schuld depossessed LaGrange and weaved her way through a couple of defenders before sending a beautiful cross to Allison Wilcox, who took a touch and delivered a shot past the goalkeeper. That was Wilcox's first goal as a Scot, and it pushed the score to 3-0. 

2 minutes later, a LaGrange player denied a goalscoring opportunity in their box by fouling one of our players, promptly earning a red and a penalty for Maryville. Schuld buried it and the game for the Panthers, as that was the last goal of the day and put the Scots to a 4-0 win. 

The Scots had 34 shots, with 15 of them being on goal, compared to LaGrange's lone shot attempt being saved, with Emma Zegers earning a clean sheet. The Scots will play against Covenant College next on September 16. It will start at 7:00 p.m.
