Box Score The Maryville College Women's baskteball team was on fire from the field in their season opener in USA South play agaianst William Peace University. The Scots shot 64.3% from the field and jumped to a 47-21 halftime lead before going on to an 87-47 victory.
Janell Menard led the Scots in scoring with 22 points. She was 9 for 9 shooting from the field which included 4 of 4 from 3 point range. Lauren Burnett put up 14 points of her own while making 5 of 6 shots from the field and was 4 of 5 from 3 point range.
Tayler Smith was also in double figures scoring with 10 and led the Scots in rebounding with seven. Lailah Farmer handed out seven assists to lead the Scots in that category.
The Maryville Women will be in action again on December 7th when they host Covenant College at 6:00 in Cooper Athletic Center.
