Box Score After a slow start the Maryville College women took a 31-17 half time advantage and were able to coast to a 70-45 win over USA South opponent Meredith on Saturday in the teams final home game of 2012.
Freshman Mackenzie Pucket led the Scots in scoring with a game high 18 points on 9 for 14 shooting. Tayler Smith put up 14 points and led the team with 6 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 blocks. Janell Menard also scored in double figures with 10 points.
Maryville's defense held Meredith to 32.1% shooting form the field while forcing 30 turnovers.
The Scots ran their record to 6-1 and 2-0 in USA South. Meredith fell to 1-5 and 0-2 in conference play. The Scots will be back in action on December 28 & 29 when they will go up against Mississippi College and Millsaps College in the Coaches vs Cancer Classic in Montgomery, Alabama.
