Box Score 1 | Box Score 2

It was a fitting end to senior day.

Senior Emilie Craven charged for the diving catch in the middle of the infield, turning the double play with a toss to first. The out completed a two-game sweep for the Scots, 9-0, 7-0, over Wesleyan College.

The wins rank as a major milestone for the Scots, as seniors Craven, Megan Mihaliak and Kayla Aloisi have led Maryville to a turnaround within the MC program.

The Scots currently sit at 17-15, marking the most wins for the program since 2009. It also marks the first time Maryville has been above .500 this late in the year since the same season.

The trio has also helped the Scots secure its first-ever bid to the USA South Athletic Conference Tournament this year.

Mihaliak led the seniors, going 3-for-5 on the day with three runs and an RBI. Craven was 1-for-4 with a run scored.

Aloisi had a huge series in the circle, earning her 10th win of the season. She went the distance in the first game, allowing only two hits in the shutout, while striking out five. She hit 1-for-2 with a run and two RBIs, while slapping a solo home run.

Aloisi went four innings in the second, giving up five hits and fanning two.

During the first game, Maryville struck in the bottom of the second. The Scots scored seven runs off six hits and three errors. Mihaliak found an RBI double to right-center to score Murray, before Craven found a single to center. Mihaliak scored on the play behind an error, before an error scored Craven. Savannah Cook used a sacrifice fly to score Aloisi, before Rachel Taylor laced a two-RBI double down the right-field line. Murray tripled to right-center, scoring Taylor for a 7-0 Maryville lead.

Aloisi would help herself in the bottom of the third. The senior pitcher laced a line-drive shot over the left field fence, as the Scots led 8-0 after three innings.

In the bottom of the fourth, Murray added her second RBI with a single to center to score McMahan. The final was 9-0 in five innings.

Maryville (17-15) was led by Murray's 3-for-3 day, as she had a single, a double and a triple. She had two RBI and a run scored, while Taylor went 1-for-3 with two RBI and a run scored. Aloisi was 1-for-2 with two runs and an RBI, while Mihaliak was 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run. McMahan went 1-for-3 with two runs, as Cook was 1-for-2 with an RBI. Craven was 1-for-2 with a run scored.

For the Wolves (8-18), it was Brooke  Tussinger and Victoria Clower that held the only two hits.

During game two, the Scots struggled against Mellissa Webb, as she fanned nine batters.

In the bottom of the fifth, Maryville finally got on the board. Jenna Roberts singled to right-center to score Mihaliak, before McMahan would score Roberts with an RBI single to center to give the Scots a 2-0 advantage.

In the bottom of the sixth, they would add five more runs highlighted by some long hits. Taylor tripled to right, before Elizabeth Wheeler scored her with an RBI single to right. Casey Joliff added an RBI single to right to score Wheeler, as Maryville had runners on the corners. The speedy Roberts found the inside-the-park, three-RBI home run over the right-fielder's head, making the final 7-0.

Roberts went 2-for-3 with two runs scored and four RBI, while Mihaliak was 2-for-3 with two runs. Joliff went 1-for-2 with an RBI and a run, while Wheeler matched her. McMahan and Cook each went 2-for-4, while Taylor was 1-for-4 with a run scored. Murray was 1-for-1.

For the Wolves, it was Webb and Ashley Bush that went 2-for-3 in Wesleyan's seven-hit attack.

Joliff (2-1) gained the win in the circle, pitching three innings of two-hit ball. She struckout two and walked only one, while securing the shutout with Aloisi.
