Maryville College split on the tennis courts on Friday, as the MC women took a 7-2 win over Wesleyan College (Ga.).
MC's men were swept 9-0 on the day by USA South foes Piedmont College.
Maryville College's women earned the win as their only two defeats came on won-by-default.
McKennah Francis earned a singles win in the first position over Erin Laffey by the scores of 6-4, 3-5, 7-5, before she coupled with Carter Dickinson for an 8-2 doubles win. Dickinson defeated YuanYuan Zhang, 6-2, 6-3 in singles action, as Kayla Zimmerman defeated Centara Nulf, 6-2, 6-1. Zimmerman and Anastasia Dunn downed their doubles opponent 8-1, as Dunn took a decisive 6-1, 6-0 win in singles. Joyce Coling also won in singles, 6-1, 6-3.
