Box Score The Maryville College Baseball team earned their fifth win in a row and completed a key USA South Athletic Conference sweep of Brevard College with an 11-1 victory on Monday afternoon on MC's Scotland Yard.
Left fielder Ryan Jones finished the league challenge 3-for-4 with a pair of runs scored and an RBI while catcher Drew Johnson and second baseman Logan Hayes combined for 5 RBI to lead MC's 11-hit offensive attack. Right fielder Peyton Sawyer finished 2-for-3 with a run scored and an RBI.
On the mound, freshman right-hander Damian Lusby (2-1) scattered five hits over seven innings allowing only one earned run. Rocky Mauriello and Nick McClendon tossed an inning of relief each to close the victory.
Maryville (10-6, 3-4) will host nationally ranked Berry College on Tuesday. First pitch against the Vikings is slated for 4:00 p.m.
