Maryville College Women's Tennis opened the 2021 season on Saturday afternoon, as the Scots fell to Huntingdon College, 9-0.
MC's Kayla Zimmerman led the way, as she played in both top-seeded matches. The senior, alongside Melanie Kowalewski, took Huntingdon to a 4-3 score in doubles, before the Hawks won the set, 8-3.
In singles competition, Zimmerman again took the Hawks' Madeline Creel to a competitive match, as the final was 6-2, 6-3, in favor of the Hawks.
Eliza Cheshire played Allison Stegall to a 6-0, 6-4 final, while Emma Christopher won a set for the Scots.
Maryville College will return to action on Saturday, April 13. The Scots travel to Piedmont College for a 2:00 p.m. first serve.
