Box Score Largest Win This Season for Maryville
DECATUR, Ga. – Several Scots turned in career and season-best performances on Saturday in a 98-39 thumping of USA South foe Agnes Scott College.
The contest marked the first action for Maryville since Jan. 7, which was a win over the Scotties. After four postponements in a row, the bench boss for the Scots was just happy to have his team back on the court.
"I'm really glad we got to play again," Scots head coach Darrin Travillian said. "We finally saw a couple of our kids for the first time in a month. I'm proud of the way we competed on both ends and shared the ball. I'm looking forward to getting the whole squad together sometime soon."
The Scots traveled only seven players to Georgia but played as if the bench was full. Maryville scored the first two baskets of the game with jumpers coming from Hannah Jones and Jordan Heifner.
A 3-pointer from Agnes Scott, their first basket of the contest, was followed by an 11-0 Maryville run. The scoring streak saw three Scots contribute and push the visitors up 15-3. Maryville shot 52.6-percent from the field in the opening half.
The second quarter widened the gap even more as a 10-0 run for the Scots and an over four-minute scoring drought for Agnes Scott pushed the lead to 45-14 with four minutes left before halftime. In the run, Maryville forced three Scottie turnovers.
Defense was the star of the show in the third quarter as the only scoring the Scots allowed the home team was two free throws. Yet another run came for Maryville in the third with the beginning of a 16 point streak coming on a Jones basket and extending into the final quarter.
The buzzer sounded at the end of the fourth with a resounding 98-39 win for the visiting Scots.
Career-Highs All Around
Heifner led Maryville in scoring with a career-high 27 points. She also hit a career mark when it came to sharing the ball as she notched nine assists. Courtney Carruthers added 21 points and six steals, with Elsa Eckenrod scoring 18 behind three 3-pointers.
Jones had a double-double, her second of the season, with 20 points and 13 rebounds. The senior also tied her career-best in field goals made with nine.
Of the seven Scots who suited up, a total of five either set or tied career-high marks during the conference tilt.

Hailey Cronk added to the box score with a career-high four rebounds while also tying her career mark in points with five. Rounding out the group was Kinsee LeFevers with her best showing in a Maryville uniform consisting of career marks of nine rebounds, two steals, and an assist.
Working Together
The Scots worked as a team to put up the best numbers of the season in several categories.
