Box Score All Scots Score in 94-39 Win
MARYVILLE – Everything went right for Maryville on Thursday night.
The Scots defeated Wesleyan 94-39 in a nonconference matchup due to the Wolves requesting to play out of USA South action for the rest of the year.
Maryville's 94 points were the second-most the Scots have scored all season while Wesleyan's 39 were the third-fewest by a Scots' opponent this year.
"We have had some tough games and some grinds all season, so it was nice not to be involved in a one-possession game with two minutes to go," Maryville head coach Darrin Travillian said.
When it came to shooting, Maryville notched season-high numbers in multiple ways. The Scots shot 50.7-percent from the field, the first game over 50-percent all season, while also shooting a season-best 50-percent from three.
The hot shooting night from deep included a season-high 16 made shots on 32 attempts.
The Scots proved that sharing is caring with 30 assists on 36 made baskets. Those 30 assists notched a season-high for Maryville, beating the previous mark of 20 the Scots achieved both against Wesleyan and Capital earlier in the season.
Defense also played a big part in the Maryville win. The Scots held the Wolves to 24.1-percent shooting from the field, a season-low for an MC foe. Wesleyan made 13 field goals, which also set a season-low for an opponent of the home team.

Every Scot who dressed got into the game and made their presence known.
Courtney Carruthers led the team with 22 points, while the rebounding title was shared among Hailey Cronk, Audrey Sanders, and Kinsee LeFevers who had six each. The six boards tied the career-high for Sanders, who also had a career-best six assists.
Freshman Kinsee LeFevers had her best showing of the year with 10 points. The guard also sunk a season-best two 3-pointers.
The career-best numbers kept coming for Maryville. Cronk had a season-high four steals and Madison Williams notched a career-best 13 points.
"It was good to see a lot of kids who haven't played a lot of minutes get out and play," Travillian said. "I thought we were incredibly unselfish and that was nice. A lot of people could have forced up shots, but no one did. We shared the ball and got everyone involved. A good team win."
The Scots move to 9-13 overall with the win and are set to finish USA South play in the coming days. Maryville, who is currently sixth in the west division, plays Brevard on Sunday and Covenant on Tuesday. The Tornadoes sit at fourth in the conference standings with Covenant fifth as of Thursday night.
"If you win games you get in the tournament, and if you don't you get what's coming," said Travillian. "We have a tough game coming up against Brevard. If we find a way to get that one you have to go pick up one at Covenant. We have to play like our remaining games are a tournament semifinal or final."
