MARYVILLE -- Maryville hosted a Saturday exhibition against Gadsden State Community College from Alabama. Gadsden State won that match 6-3.
"This was a great opportunity to play a team at a similar level to ours and find out where we are," Corbett said. "We got to a sluggish start in doubles (losing 3-0), which was disappointing because we work on doubles a lot and our performance in doubles ended up costing us the match.
"We played better in singles (3-3 tie) and kept fighting, which was good to see. Learning to come out early in doubles with the right mentality will be a point of emphasis going forward."
The Scots are back in action for their final fall match Oct. 5 at Johnson.
