Dickinson Named CCS Rookie of the Week

MARYVILLE – First RBI. First win. First Rookie of the Week!
 
Maryville pitcher Paige Dickinson earned her first Collegiate Conference of the South Rookie of the Week honor after helping the Scots earn a split this weekend against Wittenberg and No. 5 Berry.
 
Dickinson knocked in two runs and took home the pitching victory in the 9-1 thumping of Wittenberg. She laced an RBI-double to cap Maryville's four-run third inning, and then she drew a bases-loaded walk for the first of three runs in the fifth that closed out the run-rule win.
 
In the circle, the righthander allowed just one hit and one unearned run over her 3 and 2/3 innings.
 
Grand Slam Triangle Classic
The Scots at 2-2 on the season play again Friday at the largest collegiate softball tournament in the country, the Grand Slam Triangle Classic in Raleigh, North Carolina. Maryville is one of an event-record 37 teams from 14 states playing Friday, Saturday and Sunday at Walnut Creek Softball Complex.
