SEWANEE, Tenn. – Landen Parker's first-place result in the 55m hurdles highlighted Maryville's appearance at the Mountain Goat Invitational, hosted by Sewanee.

Parker crossed the line in a personal-record time of 8.75 seconds to lead the Scots to the top four placements in the 55m hurdles.
John Siepert was second with a PR of 8.91 seconds,
Ty Hylwa third in a PR 9.09 and
Jacob Faulkner fourth in a PR 9.45.

Faulker was the team's top point-scorer with 21. In addition to his fourth-place result in the 55m hurdles, the sophomore finished second in the high jump after clearing 1.67m and was second in the long jump at 5.97m.

Nolan Hutson scored 15 points with a pair of third-place results in the high jump with a PR of 1.52m and the triple jump another PR of 10.37m. He also was sixth in the long jump, posting a PR of 4.99m.

Elvin Wagner grabbed the second-place medal in the triple jump after leaping 12.00m. He followed that up with a third-place finish in the long jump with a PR of 5.87m.

In the remaining running events, Siepert finished third in the 200m dash with a PR time of 24.46 seconds, followed closely by
Logan Barger in fourth at 24.61 seconds and
Julian Martinez in seventh with a PR of 25.90 seconds. Barger returned to post a fifth-place result in the 55m dash with a PR time of 6.90 seconds, with Parker following in eighth with a PR of 6.99 seconds.

Maryville finished second in the team standings out of four squads with 92 points. The Scots compete again Jan. 17-18 at the Roanoke Invitational.
