RICHMOND, Ind. – Break open the trophy case!
Maryville's new era of women's golf could hardly have started any better after the Scots swept both the team and medalist trophies Sunday at the Forest Hills Fall Invitational. Maryville as a team played 25 strokes better than Saturday's opening round, led by medalist
Chloe Dunlap.

The Seymour senior closed with an 80 for the tournament's best round, clipping 12 strokes off her Round 1 score. In fact, all five Maryville lineup players improved on their Saturday scores.
First-year head coach
Katie Brinker earns a victory in her debut tournament leading the Scots. She said this win was built with more than just time on the driving range.
"One of the things we have really focused on is the mental game – staying calm under pressure – and it showed today," Brinker said. "This is a great steppingstone for what's to come."
Dunlap carded four birdies and five pars to finish at 172 for her first collegiate win. She finished four strokes clear of Franklin's Sarah Cooper, who shot 86 for 176.
After that, it was all Scots.
Four Scots Make All-Tournament
MaKenzie Pile finished third after a Sunday 86, followed by
Makayla Smith – playing as an independent – in fourth place.
Emma Clonan finished fifth thanks to her final-round 88, and
Lillie Peterson shot 92 for a sixth-place result.
Emily Miller scored for the Scots on Sunday with a final-round 91 and a seventh-place overall result.
Those finishing in the top five earned All-Tournament honors.
The Scots as a team shot 345 Sunday to close at 715, which was 38 strokes better than second-place Franklin (753). Neither Earlham nor Manchester was able to post a team score after withdrawals reduced their lineups to fewer than four.
Maryville returns to action for its closest-to-home tournament of the fall at the Tennessee Wesleyan Fall Classic. The tournament takes place Sept. 28-29 on The Links at Kahite in Vonore.
"We'll celebrate this, but we'll also stay focused on continuing to improve as we prepare for our next tournament at the end of the month," Brinker said.
