DANVILLE, Ky. – Maryville's
Tyler Barrett impressed over the weekend at the Centre Indoor Invitational and Multis.

Barrett won the long jump with a person-record leap of 6.71m, which converts to 22 feet and ¼ inch. The Georgia senior jumped to his record distance on his fifth attempt to claim all 10 points for the Scots. Barrett also finished third in the triple jump at 13.27m and sixth in the 60m dash with a time of 7.15 seconds. Both of those results were personal records and school records.

In total, Barrett accounted for 18½ of Maryville's 21½ points. The Scots finished 10th out of 12 competing schools.

Elvin Wagner earned the other three points for the Scots, finishing sixth in the triple jump with a PR of 12.75m. Wagner pocketed another PR with his 11th-place result in the long jump at 5.98m.

Maryville as a team set 16 personal records and tied another.

John Siepert is the Scot who tied his PR, posting 9.36 seconds to finish fifth in the 60m hurdles. Other PRs on the track belonged to Tory Crenshaw (7.35 seconds) and
Julian Martinez (7.70 seconds) in the 60m dash;
Tyler Tangel (5:04.64),
Terry Gonzalez (5:21.60) and
Gustavo Hernandez (5:26.88) in the mile run; Crenshaw (25.00) and Martinez (25.68) in the 200m dash; and
Steve Cope (9:54.63) and
James LeNeve (10:24.85) in the 3000m run, with Cope's time also establishing a school record.

In the field events, additional Maryville PRs went to
Sam Cocchia in the pole vault with a clearance of 2.25m and
Jacob Faulkner in the heptathlon shot put with a distance of 9.59m.Â
Logan Barger set a pair of personal season-bests, with a 7.32 clocking in the 60m dash and a 24.28 result in the 200m dash, and Faulkner added a personal season-best in teh heptathlon 60m dash with a time of 7.50 seconds.
