Tennis season is upon us, and the Scots' women's tennis team is looking to field another competitive team after a successful 2024 campaign. Last season, MC made it to the semifinals of the CCS tournament before falling to Covenant, thus ending their season. The team finished with a 12-9 overall record, an improvement of four matches from the previous year, and a 5-2 conference record. Returning production from last season include seniors
Abby Diggs and
Elizabeth Shwaiko. The two have combined to appear in 103 matches and helped the Scots to achieve the best overall team record in at least 20 years in the 2023-24 season. Sophomore
Alyssa Smith was named to the 2023-24 Academic All-Conference team and won a CCS Rookie of the Week honor that season as well. She appeared in 19 matches and posted 12-9 singles record and a 16-6 doubles record (6-1 in conference play), the best mark on the team.
Josie McRae, the other returning sophomore on the team, appeared in 11 matches her first season and posted perfect 1-0 records at the four and five positions. She received 2023-24 CCS Academic All-Conference recognition. New to the women's tennis team this season are freshmen

Maryville head coach
Doug Corbett cannot wait to get his team on the court for the spring season. The Scots open their 2025 spring campaign hosting Indiana U.-Southeast this Sunday at 1 p.m. A Friday match against Pfeiffer was moved to April 12 because of wintry weather. Maryville is picked to finish fourth in the preseason poll taken by Collegiate Conference of the South head coaches, but Corbett has higher hopes than that. Senior team members are
Kaleb Burke and
Ben Wyrick, while the junior class consists of
Jonathan Crane,
Jackson Meyer and
James Smith. This year's sophomores are
Gabriel Villalonga Serra and a pair of transfers in
Ian Martin and
Field Myatt, with the first-year portion of the roster made up of
Eli Cauthorn,
Pedro Cunha and
Luka Romano.
