Final Results
ATLANTA – Tyler Tangel's second-place finish in the 10,000m run highlighted Maryville's weekend at the Emory Spring Break Classic.

Tangel posted a personal-record time of 36 minutes and 0.19 seconds to beat out Emmanual's Zaylen Alexander by 1½ seconds for the runner-up medal.

Maryville's next-best individual finishes were by
Sam Cocchia in 12th and
Gustavo Hernandez in 13th for the 3000m steeplechase. Both posted PR times, with Cocchia clocking 11:41.63 and Hernandez 12:07.93.
John Siepert also had a 13th-place result in the 110m hurdles, posting a PR and school-record time of 15.52 seconds.
Teddy Orton finished 19th in that race with a PR of 15.80 seconds.

Siepert and Landon Parker earned PR times in the 400m hurdles. Siepert clocked 1:00.35 to finish 32nd and Parker 1:06.09 for a 46-place result. Orton was the top Maryville finisher in the 400m hurdles at 30th with a time of 59.89 seconds.

The Scots ran well in the 1500m, led by
James LeNeve in 32nd place with a PR and school-record time of 4:27.10 for 32nd place. Cocchia also PR'ed in 4:45.32 for 47th place, as did
Paul Kanios in 4:52.87 for 52nd place.

In the field events, Maryville added five more personal records and a couple of season bests. The top finish went to
Elvin Wagner, who placed 16th in the triple jump with a season-best leap of 12.65m.

Josh Lay posted three PRs, starting with a shot put toss of 11.95m for 39th place. He added a hammer throw of 21.49m for 58th place and a discus distance of 29.23m for 67th place.
Joshua Panetta also posted a PR in the shot put with 9.16m for 68th place, and he had a season-best throw of 23.60m for 55th in the javelin.
Jacob Faulkner was the top Maryville finisher in the javelin with a PR of 39.07m for 29th place.

The Scots return to action Saturday at the Landon Bond Classic, hosted by Berea.
