MARYVILLE – Jacob Faulkner halted a special Collegiate Conference of the South Track & Field Championships streak and picked up a gold medal in the process.
Â
Faulkner soared to first place in the pole vault to highlight Maryville's Day 2 effort Thursday at the 2025 CCS Championships, held here at the Austin Coleman Piper Memorial Track. The Brentwood sophomore cleared a personal record and school record 4.12m and took home 10 points.
Â
That result helped the Scots tie Huntingdon for fourth place with 102 points. Piedmont ran away with the team competition, nearly doubling Asbury's score 240 to 123. Belhaven was third with 105 points, and Covenant finished sixth with 94.
Â
Second place in the pole vault went to Belhaven's Neal Terry, who saw his bid to sweep the four "jumping" events for the second straight year halted by Faulkner.
