BREVARD, N.C. – Maryville's final tune-up for the Scots Invitational found the team at Brevard for the Tornado Classic.

Steve Cope finished fourth in the 3000m steeplechase and Cameron Robinson was fourth in the discus for Maryville's top individual finishes. Cope crossed in 10 minutes and 44.24 seconds, while Robinson recorded a toss of 39.61m.

Tyler Barrett posted a pair of fifth-place finishes in both the long jump and the triple jump. Barrett recorded a leap of 6.51m in the long jump and 13.04m in the triple jump.
Joshua Panetta and
Jaden Marlin placed fifth in the hammer throw and shot put, respectively. Panetta recorded a personal-record distance of 38.60m in the hammer, and Marlin also had a PR of 13.02m in the shot put.
Teddy Orton finished fifth in the 110m hurdles with a clocking of 16.63 seconds.

Elvin Wagner finished eighth in the triple jump with a season-best distance of 12.73m.
Josh Lay was eighth in the shot put with a PR of 12.70m, and Robinson finished eighth in the hammer with a season-best measurement of 36.65m. Marlin was ninth in the hammer at 36.35m, while
Jacob Faulkner finished ninth in the javelin with a throw of 36.91m. Faulkner also finished 10th in the high jump with a clearance of 1.70m.

Other PRs for Maryville went to Lay in the javelin, with a throw of 25.30m for 15th place;
Zai Hart (11.96 seconds for 20th) and
Julian Martinez (11.97 seconds for 21st) in the 100m dash;
James LeNeve (2:10.69 for 21st) and
Gustavo Hernandez (2:19.85 for 29th) in the 800m run; and Martinez (23.99 seconds for 21st) and Hart (24.30 seconds for 25th) in the 200m dash.

Maryville's 4x800m relay team of
Sam Cocchia,
Wyatt Crider,
Paul Kanios and LeNeve finished in fourth place with a season-best time of 9:11.13.

Additional season-bests went to Faulkner in the 100m dash and discus. In the sprint, Faulkner posted 11.63 seconds to finish in 16th place, while his discus result of 26.07m landed him in 22nd place. Robinson posted a season-best in the shot put of 12.05m to finish 11th, and Panetta threw the javelin a season-best 23.92m for 17th place.
