FULL RESULTS
BREVARD, N.C. - Maryville tied for sixth place at the Tornado Classic last Friday after accumulating 35 team points and 13 top-ten finishers.
The Scots' top finishers were
Abbey Cox and
Hailee Hardman. Cox finished 2nd in shot put (11.17), 3rd in the Discus (35.43m), and 4th in the hammer (39.28). Her distance in the Shot Put set a school record, and her hammer throw set a new personal record.
Hailee Hardman also set a new school mark with her triple jump performance of 9.57, finishing in third at the event.
Mariah Thornton also broke a school record with her time in the 100m hurdles, placing 7th in the event with a time of 18.20 seconds.
In total, 15 new personal records were set and three school records.
Next up, MC will host the Scots invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Austin Coleman Piper Memorial Track.
