ATLANTA, Ga. – The Collegiate Conference of the South (CCS) has announced its women's track and field weekly honors, released by the league office on Tuesday.
Megan Shinn was named this week's Women's Track Athlete of the Week, alongside teammate, Abbey Cox who collected this week's Women's Field Athlete of the Week honor.
Kaitlyn Snodgrass also tabbed Women's Field Rookie of the Week.
Megan Shinn delivered a record-breaking performance at the Victor Ice Breaker Duals, capturing first place in the 10,000 meter run with a time of 41:18.68. The sophomore's performance set a new Maryville program record and currently stands as the top mark in the CCS this season.
Abbey Cox turned in a strong performance in the throwing events at the Victor Ice Breaker Duals, placing fourth in both the hammer throw and discus. Cox recorded marks of 41.06 meters in the hammer and 33.69 meters in the discus, leading the league in both categories.
Kaitlyn Snodgrass delivered an impressive debut at the Victor Ice Breaker Duals, setting new Maryville program records in both the long jump and triple jump. The freshman recorded a mark of 5.07 meters in the long jump, placing fifth in the event, and followed with a jump of 10.14 meters in the triple jump to place sixth.
