Desiree Nance followed with a two-run single later in the inning to give the Scots a 3-0 lead.

The second inning blew the game open. Maryville sent 12 hitters to the plate and scored eight runs on eight hits. RBI singles from S. After a scoreless first inning, the Scots erupted for six runs in the second. Blankenship delivered the biggest swing of the inning with a bases-clearing triple, while P. Dickinson added an RBI single to help Maryville jump out to a commanding 6-0 lead.

Brevard scratched across a run in the third and added two more in the fourth, but the Scots answered in the fifth. S. Dickinson launched a two-run home run, and J. Harris added an RBI single in the sixth to stretch the lead to 10-5.

Brevard pushed across two late runs in the seventh, but the Scots held on for the 10-5 victory.

The right-hander struck out 13 batters across six innings, punching a career high, while allowing just two hits and one run to earn her third win of the season. Whitney Carr recorded the final three outs to close out the doubleheader sweep.

Maryville's offense and pitching combined for an impressive showing throughout the day, as the Scots racked up 31 hits and struck out 15 Brevard batters while continuing to build momentum early in the season.
