DICKSON, Tenn. - The Maryville College women's golf team wrapped up their season at the SAA Conference Championship, finishing seventh as a team with a score of 1,007 (+143). The Scots also set a single round team record for Maryville College in the second round of play with a score of 324 (+36).
Leading the way for the Scots was Mallory Higgins, who paced the lineup with a three-round total of 76-75-86 (+21), earning a 16th-place finish in the individual standings. Her second round score of 75 set the Maryville College individual round record. Charlsie McElhaney turned in a strong performance as well, posting rounds of 82-83-76 (+25) to claim 21st place.
Emma Clonan finished 35th with rounds of 88-81-82 (+35), while Lillie Peterson rounded out the Scots' lineup in 44th place with a 102-85-91 card (+62). Multiple players posted personal records during the championship, a testament to the growth the program has experienced throughout the year.
Head coach Jesse Lawley offered high praise for her squad in the aftermath of the final round, pointing to the team's scoring record as a sign of what the program has built since the preseason began.
"I'm so proud of the girls. To break the scoring record in one of our final rounds of the year shows how hard work all the way back in August can pay off. We had multiple PR individual performances as well. I can't say how proud I am. I'm very grateful for their effort, their commitment, and their willingness to grow. I'm ready to see their growth over the summer to head into the fall season. It's always a good day and year to be a Scot!"
