Scots Wrap Opening Weekend

SEWANEE – Three Maryville golfers scored in the 70s Sunday to lead the Scots at the Transylvania Fall Invitational.
 
Colton Novotny carded a 3-over-par 75 to finish the tournament at 12-over 228, tying for 39th place. Jacob Dunlap came home in 77 for a 9-over-par finish and a tie for 31st. Tristen Evans put together a second consecutive solid round with a 78 for a tournament score of 22-over 238. Andrew Thimjon rounded out the Maryville scoring with an 80, and Joe Quinlan shot 83.
 
All five Maryville golfers contributed to the team score in at least one round. Dunlap, Novotny and Thimjon counted in all three rounds.
 
The Scots as a team finished 14th at 56-over 920. Sunday's round of 310 was not as good as their Round 1 effort but better than Round 2.
 
Maryville is back in action Sept. 19 and 20 hosting the Maryville College Invitational at Wind River Golf Club.
