CCS Release
MARYVILLE – Four Maryville women's tennis student-athletes earned placement on the 2024-25 College Sports Communicators Academic All-District Team.
Abby Diggs and
Elizabeth Shwaiko took home CSC honors in all three of their eligible seasons, while
Josie McRae and
Alyssa Smith were named for the first time. First-year student-athletes are not eligible for Academic All-District recognition.
Diggs wrapped up her senior season with the team's top won-lost record in every category. She finished 11-4 overall, went 7-2 in dual matches and posted a 4-2 mark in tournament play that tied for best on the team. Her record during the CCS regular season was 4-1. Diggs in doubles went 11-11 overall and 3-3 in CCS play.
Shwaiko earned All-CCS Second Team honors after compiling five victories at the No. 1 singles position. She finished 9-10 in singles and 9-10 in doubles. Smith landed her All-CCS Second Team selection after going 13-9 in singles, including a combined 4-2 mark at the Nos. 1 and 2 positions, to go with an 11-12 record in doubles. McRae posted an 8-5 record in doubles to support her 6-7 singles record.
The 2024-25 Academic All-District® Women's Tennis Team, selected by College Sports Communicators, recognizes the nation's top student-athletes for their combined performances on the court and in the classroom. The CSC Academic All-America® program separately recognizes honorees in four divisions — NCAA Division I, NCAA Division II, NCAA Division III and NAIA.
