MARYVILLE – Maryville senior defender Haley Cartt is the second Scot women's soccer player to earn Academic All-America honors from the College Sports Communicators. She was named to the Third Team in voting by the national sports information directors.

Wednesday's announcement recognized the Blount County native for excellence both in the classroom and on the playing surface.
Cartt helped the Scots to a Collegiate Conference of the South championship season and at-large berth in the NCAA tournament. For her efforts, Cartt has been presented with the following honors:
- All-CCS First Team
- CCS Defensive Player of the Year
- United Soccer Coaches All-Region Second Team
- College Sports Communicators Academic All-District
- College Sports Communicators Academic All-America
Cartt headlined the CCS's top defensive unit. In 11 league matches counting the tournament, the Scots outscored their opponents 56-3 for an average goals-allowed rate of 0.27. The biochemistry major added goals against Berea and Agnes Scott and contributed five assists in 22 matches. She started 70 of her 72 career matches played.
She joins Shannon Reagan as the only Maryville Women's Soccer team member to earn CSC Academic All-America honors. Reagan was a First Team selection and the 2019 Academic All-America Team Member of the Year for women's soccer.
