MARYVILLE – Maryville had five players honored on the Collegiate Conference of the South post-season All-Conference lists.

Christian Carlton, and starting pitcher
Mitchell Grannan were named to the second team.
Thaxton appeared in 37 games for the Scots in 2023, finishing with a slash line of .328/.425/.541. Thaxton was second on the team in home runs (6), RBI (32), and slugging. The Sophomore finished the season on a strong note, recording an eight-game hit streak through the end of the regular season. During that stretch, he recorded multiple hits in six of them.
Arbuthnot was the Scots' most reliable reliever this season, throwing a team-high 39 innings of relief this season. His 2.77 ERA (12 ER) ranks first on the team among pitchers with at least 10 innings pitched. Arbuthnot has allowed just one earned run in his last 11 1/3 innings. He has struck out 33 batters this season while walking just nine, good for a K/BB ratio of 3.67.
Lopez finished the season with a .328/.420/.489. The senior wreaked havoc on the base paths all year for Maryville. He led the Scots with 13 stolen bases in 17 tries and tied for the team lead in triples with two. Lopez scored a team-high 37 runs while leading the squad with 14 doubles.
Carlton was MC's most reliable hitter throughout the season, he led all MC hitters with at least 100 at-bats in batting average (.371) while also getting on base at a team-high .508 clip. He finished first on the team in hits with 49, while finishing second on the team in doubles with 13, and third in RBIs with 30. He also recorded nine stolen bases, good for second on the team.
Maryville's final All-Conference honoree is Grannan. The sophomore spent most of the 2023 season as the Scots' No. 3 starter. Grannan pitched 46 1/3 innings, leading all Maryville starters with a 3.30 ERA (17 ER). He leads the Scots with 61 strikeouts, good for a team-high 11.85 SO/9. Opposing hitters batted just .236 against Grannan, leading all Scots in batting average against.
