Wendy Wheeler Petty played four seasons under head coach Christian Burns. She competed at No. 1 position in both singles and doubles, leading the Scots to a GSAC championship banner in 2001. Her individual accomplishments include being named team 1999 and 2000 MVP, and 2001 GSAC Player of the Year. Wheeler Petty graduated from Maryville College in 2001 with a degree in Psychology. She works at William Blount High School right here in Maryville, where she earned the honor of Blount County School Counselor of the Year in 2021-22. She has coached the boys and girls tennis teams at William Blount since 2016.
