One of the best wide receivers in school history, Wesley Idlette was a four-year starter for the Scots and set several program records including career receptions (206), career receiving touchdowns (25), and career receiving yards (2,820). He twice was named a Preseason All-American (2010 & 2011) and earned USA South All-Conference honors in all four seasons. He was also named an Academic All-American in 2010. Idlette has been the head wrestling coach of Kingsport Dobyns-Bennett High School since 2017. During his tenure, the program has excelled tremendously, including three district and region championships. He is the first coach in the region to qualify all 14 wrestlers to the state tournament and has helped produce 13 state placers, including five state champions and two runners-up. In 2020, he was voted Tennessee Coach of the Year by the National Wrestling Coaches Association. He serves on the board of H.O.P.E. Tri-Cities, a local nonprofit that advocates for multicultural understanding and community service outreach among local youth. He also participated in the Tennessee Chamber of Commerce Leadership Tennessee Next program in 2022.
